As I see it, its a Cyclical Journey of Life in a Fantasy world of Magic and Politics, the fight between the Powers of Good and Evil. 
The Wheel of Time, being an Audio Visual Depiction of the Book Series written by Mr. Robert Jordan. It may be a best choice for Amazon and Mr. Jeff Bezos to attract more subscribers towards Amazon Video Prime, along with the upcoming series The Lord of the Rings, acclaimed as the most costly content produced so far, and the largest television series ever made, as reported on many websites.

Review:

Although it was a good watch, but first season is not so gripping due to the slow build up of the Plot. The Book Series almost consists 10,000 pages and summing all the ingredients on the screen must not be an easy task. 
The Production is Huge, including Locations, Sets, Lights, Art Works, VFX, Costumes with Properties and Music. The Art Direction and the use of Designs and Architect is good different and up to the mark and Justifies a mystic epic fantasy feel.
